Mon

This morning I met Dave after he was done giving a lecture & went to the Dr. to get Liv's vaccinations.  Two big painful ones with some pretty big cries & then she was quiet by the time we walked out of the room. 

We traded cars & I ran out into town to browse around, & did some shopping.  Also grabbed two delicious coffee drinks at our local coffee shop which offers 50% off drinks on Monday for Military. yum!  yes, please!  Dave came home with O while I went out.

Had a very lazy day together afterwards that went by quickly.  Next I knew the Red Wings were on & it was quickly evening.  Not quickly enough for Livy though since she has reallllly been fighting naps lately.  Like...by an hour. ...sometimes two. or more.  Today she was up after a 45 minute nap at 3:30.... and wouldn't sleep again til we put her to bed 'early' at 7:30pm. 

She's been telling us lately that she's wanting to move her bedtime from 9pm to much sooner - 7:30ish on average.  (mostly by refusing to sleep in the afternoon until she's just so tired & goes to bed early getting up once to eat before we go to bed & then still sleeping through the night after that time.)

Just figure a lot of it out one day at a time....

Our Week & Weekend

Thursday I spent all.day.long. cooking & baking up a storm!  I delivered two full meals to two friends & also some treats to another - all who just had little girls in the last couple weeks!!!

All packed up & ready to go!

I made Roasted Vegetable Penne Bake, homemade Ciabbata bread, & a big salad for dinner & Cookies & Cream Brownies for dessert.  I also made Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins w/a side of fruit for breakfast, because I remember that post baby - as awesome as it was to get dinner, something yummy for breakfast would have rocked!!

David & Livvy & I spent two hours delivering our meals & then came home to enjoy some ourselves!!  (A little bummed though b/c the recipe calls for it to bake at 450* & even though it seemed a bit too warm I did just that & so it was a little dry - which unfortunately means it was the same for our friends!) :(  Oh well....


Friday we just hung out, had leftovers for dinner (but I made french bread since I didn't make any for us Thurs.), we randomly ended up watching a comedian online & who knows?

Saturday - Liv had us up around 6a or so & D couldn't sleep anymore so he grabbed us a caramel coffee drink at the local shop & some donuts from across the way. yuuuuuuum.  I tried to sleep in a bit later & then a beautiful little girl came to wake me up about 9a right after she got up again. :)

I spent the morning finishing up some VIP - very important projects/packages.  & then we went out to town to the Post Office & Lowes (which took about an hour and a half.  Seriously, can any get out of there in less?) & the grocery store.  There we picked up a bottle of champagne & some steak for dinner.  We enjoyed it outside on the backporch on a warm evening with a slight breeze.  Hot tub was great too - minus the fact that every neighbor seemed to be in their back yard last night - ha. awkward.  we could whisper and probably still hear each other. 

Excited that we got a clothesline yesterday to hang up in the backyard so now I can dry & sun the diapers more often! yay!  I just had them laying on a towel on the hot tub the last couple times. 

Today - we watched church with some muffins & fruit & coffee of course.  Dave's been doing a bunch of stuff in the garage & around the yard.  Liv's taking a couple tiny naps.  & I'm in the mix of doing a ton of things & relaxing.  Next up is folding a ton of laundry that's accumulated over the last week.  Salsa Chicken is in the crockpot for dinner, so that's a beautiful thing! Oh, and I'm surprising Dave with some of his favorite cookies too - Chocolate & Mint Chip cookies!

Monday, Monday

Bright & Sunny today - as always.  We were both tired getting up this morning - but I got up with baby & 3 doggies & let D sleep in a little longer b/c he had a long 3 flight day ahead!  He left by 9:30a & wasn't home until after 10p.

The day ended up passing by *quickly*! But, we did get a nice walk in during mid-afternoon.

Liv has realllly been enjoying blowing "raspberries" (as in all day non stop it seems) :)

And she is rolling around like a little ball of fun.  It's great hanging out on the carpet in the living room now - she's rolling side to side & in little circles around herself - she really seems to enjoy it!

Busy Week

Well, since D has come back home we've had a busy week & been hanging out as much as we can!!

Weds - we took a walk to the pier & enjoyed hanging out on the beach for a bit.  Homemade Mac N Cheese & Bruschetta for lunch. Watched the Red Wings with enchiladas for dinner!

Thurs - St. Patrick's Day!  Joan & David dropped off their dogs on their way to the hospital to get induced for baby's birth!!!  We went to a squadron "Hail & Farewell" party which was fun.  Then picked up Joan's mom from the airport abt 10:30p & brought her back to their house.

Fri - ?! 

Sat - Stopped at the local coffee shop, grabbed McD's for breakfast - for some reason an Egg McMuffin sounded sooo good - & I don't even think I've ever ordered one before.  Then we ran some errands to SunHarvest, the local nursery & Lowe's - bought a carpet for our living room - yay! Feels SO much homier in here now, even if it's not big enough & all...

Joan & David had their baby!!! Miss Charlotte was born around 1am!! It's a girl! We are so excited! :)

         Liv was *fussy* in the afternoon - not sure if the morning was just too busy for her?! ...even though she took a couple small naps while out.  Anyway, just unconsolable crying for a long time around 2ish - we took her for a walk which definitely helped.  unfortunately, we had another meltdown later that evening too around 6... & then she slept 6:30p-9:45p.  up to eat & then down again about 11.  whew!

Sun - Grabbed some donuts & a new local place & ate it at the beach looking at the big waves.  We did a ton of work around the house today.  D washed off the hot tub cover, all the outside chairs, the porch, etc. & mowed for the first time.  I did a bunch of laundry & cleaned stuff.... it sure seemed like I was busy but I just don't know with what! :)

Welcome Home Daddy

Welcome Home Daddy!!!

It's been a LONG 3.5 weeks while Dave had to go on a detachment to fly in New Mexico.  Liv & I dressed up to pick him up from work on Monday afternoon.  I only snapped this one quick pic, but she was excited to see him & he was SO excited to see her.  Big smiles from them both!  She's changed a lot he says - bigger, more fun, more vocal, etc.  I don't notice too much of a difference being with her non-stop, so it's funny to hear what he has to say about it.  We grabbed lunch & went to the store & just hung out at home.  They played a lot & cuddled & we enjoyed having dinner together as a family again!

 She was *giggling* when he was kissing her & tickling her as we got her dressed for bed last night.  It was *HEART-MELTING ADORABLE*  I had her giggling a little bit again today & seriously if I could just bottle it up it could cure anything that ails you.  I can't wait til she does it more & longer as she gets bigger! :)

Night & Day from.....exhaustion?

More for my memory - than all of my lovely readers. . . .

Oh my - this momma is tired!  Last night as soon as I got into bed Cabrinha was continuing to act funny - so in & out we went until I just said - just puke anywhere you want if you just stop!  ... well she didn't listen & continued to keep me up.  I got in an hour nap from 12:30-1:30 (I think) I'm so off on my times with the time change in the middle & sleep deprived too.  Anyway, up worrying, not feeling well & doggy being weird.  Dave was out to dinner etc. with coworkers & called me (upon my insistence) at like 2:30 - (he's an hour behind) so we talk for 20 minutes & next I know the little love is waking up!!  20 minutes to decide whether she's serious or not & we're up together too. 
Let the doggy out again & sleep from 4:30-6:30 when I wake to her barking outside the window - oops.   Got maybe an hour nap in this morning abt 10 & then when it came time for afternoon nap O was fighting it, but fell asleep for about 25 minutes & just as I was falling asleep for what I was hoping for a 2 hour nap - she's up!  This turned into a 1.5 hour crying fit with only momentary silences throughout.  It.was.awful.  Being so tired with a crazy up all night before just really made it worse.  Nothing worked - not nursing, walking, swinging, cuddling. . . .
 Dave was 'there' with me through it all... which was honestly a big emotional help.  After he suggested taking a walk for the 3rd time - I listened - which helped - a.ton!  She was quiet through our walk to the beach - with her puffy eyes from crying. Poor thing. :(  She fussed a bit on the way home & napped for about 30 minutes.  yay!  Taking her inside in the stroller when she falls asleep she usually wakes up 10 minutes later, so I left the stroller outside, grabbed a magazine & read on the front porch - so it was 20 minutes instead.  ;) ha!  She woke up with a little smile as if nothing just caused a terrible day & I kissed her & we had a good rest of the evening.  :)

No pictures from today as I got nothing done today other than 2 walks!  (I had to take Brinas out again later - it wouldn't be be fair) :)  and that was my bad start - to a good week ahead! :)  -L-
