Time Flies with Grandma here

Love this one with her little knee-high socks!
Wednesday morning we had our 4 month check up at the pediatrician office - which includes vaccinations.

Liv weighed 13lbs 7oz (?) & is in the 60th percentile (like that matters) & is 24 1/4 inches.

Dr. said everything looks good & even though we're still having a tiny bit of blood in the stool issues - she doesn't seem too concerned to switch up my diet or switch to this special formula if it was something bigger.  Her body 'tone' is excellent apparently too.

Liv had 1 oral & 1 shot vaccination & other than a quick cry going in, she did great!!

Afterwards we headed to the mall & looked around a bit, had lunch & then headed home.

She was mildly fussy tonight & was up with little cries throughout the night, but I only got up at 1am for her to eat & the little cries turned back to sleep relatively quickly.  Either way, waking up hearing the little movements all night was tiring - even without getting up with her.

Thursday Grandma was motivated!  We got up & cleaned & organized all day long.  Worked hard on our room - & Liv helped out by playing & watching us.

Playing with my toys - lots of fun!
Went through clothes & re-organized sizes & washed more to incorporate into her current collection in the baby's room.  Grandma worked on the laundry room & closet & did lots of laundry.
I made Chicken & Rice bake for dinner & some homemade chocolate chip cookies too! :)
Liv slept well through the night.  Hoping to get a good sleep pattern going again.  She was sleeping 10p-8am up until last week!!

Checkin' out Grandma while she sings & talks to me after a fun bath!
Friday - Liv was up at 6ish? & then we napped in my bed for awhile longer.

We went to a kids consignment sale downtown in the afternoon, the post office, dropped off 2 bags at GoodWill & grabbed a chocolate shake on the way home.  yumm!

We had cheese ravioli & a big salad for dinner & watched 'How to lose a guy in 10 days' on TV while Liv was fussy at night. Overly tired for sure - you could tell she was just fighting it!

First night sleeping with BOTH arms out of her swaddle blanket & she slept til 5:45a - then we napped again in bed til about 8:20.

Today... we'll see! We were going to head to a neighboring touristy town, but it's been raining & a small storm - super windy so I guess we'll just hang low instead.

Hey Brinas - do they ever put you in bags to play with? This is FUN!
(Pottied on the changing table & grandma joked we should put her in this on the way to the tub so we didn't drip - it was just too fun.
No need to alert the authorities - no babies were harmed or left unattended in the making of these photos)

One Year Housiversary

One year (& two days ago) the movers were dropping off (almost) all of our household goods that had been stored up in a warehouse in Rhode Island for 9 months.  Weird to think that Dave & I lived without all of our 'stuff' for SO long - but interesting that you can really get by with so little.  (and also enjoy so much when you do have it.)

A review of the first month in pictures:

Our New House - After our offer was accepted & paperwork was done
House-hunting trip was successful!

On our way - Feb 27th, 2010

1st night here - ripping out the old lady floral shelf liners

1st night here - glad to get here after 2 days on the road

Movers here bright & early the next morning.  Just wish they would have brought *all* of our stuff - still several missing boxes of ours somewhere out there in the world.  No one knows where they are. . . .

Cabrinha helping out amidst the chaos

D was soo excited for the hot tub - he set it up right away.  Unfortunately it was broken & took a couple months of phone calls & a repair man that didn't know what a hot tub even was 4 visits for it to still not get fixed, letters to the owner & her realtor gone answered (it was part of the contract that it had to be in working order), etc...   ... finally D just took it apart, soldered a few pieces & fixed it himself! :)  So, that was awesome!

The backyard before -  Really? a bird bath rock garden in a tiny yard?

The yard after!!  Now if only grass actually lasted around here. . .

Just the 3 of us!!!
Took this picture the day we found out we were expecting!! :)
After all of that hard work, painting, moving those rocks from the backyard, etc.
we took a deep breath of ocean air to celebrate! :)

Yardwork, Naps, & Food

My precious little girl is loving waking up in the middle of the night again - it is not a welcomed trend.  She was up at 3:30/4 last night & up again at 6:30.

Grandma was up bright & early doing yardwork - weeding & such.  She also pulled out some dead bushes (there were 2 like the one on the left along the fence & you can see where she already pulled one)  apparently they had been dead looong before we moved in & were pretty easy to pull out.

Speaking of which....I hope to do an Anniversary post here in the next day or two - We've been here ONE YEAR already - unbelievable!

Grandma had a nice long nap this afternoon after all that yardwork & little girl took nearly 2 hours to fuss & cry before she finally slept.... for 40 minutes.

We went out for Mexican tonight - it was good but great to eat chips & guac - yum yum!  Then we grabbed some food at PetSmart for the doggie & deal hunted at Marshalls.  Good times!

Grandma's here!

Yesterday Olivia & I drove to church (and lugged the carseat a mile into it) & enjoyed almost the entire service.  We jumped out a few minutes early b/c she was just on the edge of getting fussy & then we went grocery shopping.  I spent awhile getting the guest room ready for Grandma Cini to come!!!  Her plane was an hour late but at least it wasn't cancelled. . .  :)  So we went up the airport to pick her up about 11:20pm to get her & went to bed, exhausted, by 1am!!  whew!

Today we totally just jammed around.  Took a walk to the beach & to the pier this afternoon (I'm burned! too - is summer here already?!)  Absolutely gorgeous out again!

Our good friend Joan brought over a Bumbo chair for us to borrow after a shout out request on facebook - SO sweet - Liv seemed interested in it - Cabrinha was too!!  even if the picture below doesn't show it - ha!

Liv had a bath tonight, which she just looooves!  Hoping for a good night's sleep for us all tonight!

Saturday

How quickly a week goes by & all you planned to do passes in the wind.  Oh well!

Today I started to pick up the guest room for my mom's visit...which I meant to start on Monday.  ooops.

Liv had an odd napping day - she did lots of little bits of napping, but it still kept me busy.  We worked a lot more today on playing, talking, & tummy time.  I *wish* we had carpet here - we'd play on the floor much more & she'd not be sitting in her boppy next to me on the couch all day! ha.  we usually do any playing in her room where there is carpet.

That's about it!

I much prefer any tummy time on my boppy - even though I look bored here :)  I fuss more (a lot more) if it's on the floor.

Look at me!  So cherry cute!

Our Walk to the Beach

Early this afternoon we took a walk to the beach - it was absolutely, positively gorgeous outside today.
70 & sunny - - the kind of day you drive with the windows down, good tunes crankin' out loud & makes you feel good about life.  (I, however, didn't drive anywhere today - but I do love those days!)

So, I thought we'd share our walk to the beach with you! :)

The view on the way

Good waves today

I sat on the porch & finished my book this afternoon during O's nap.  I even looked a bit red after.  Made mac n cheese for dinner tonight & now just going to start to clean the guest room & I have "Babies" that I rented to watch tonight too!  ... or maybe tomorrow

So, the big thing for today was... getting a massage! :)  D got me a gift certificate to a local place for Christmas.  Joan came over to babysit O who had fun on her boppy playing with Sophie & fell asleep for 45 minutes (even though she just woke up from her nap before J got here.)
I enjoyed a great massage - I 'needed' it so bad - it was awesome!!!  Thanks love!

No new pics from today - but here are a recent few!

Hey Mom, what're we doing?

Laundry? Oh no! I'll help with anything but folding laundry!

Brina's is always overseeing what we do!
