Welcome Home Daddy!!!

It's been a LONG 3.5 weeks while Dave had to go on a detachment to fly in New Mexico.  Liv & I dressed up to pick him up from work on Monday afternoon.  I only snapped this one quick pic, but she was excited to see him & he was SO excited to see her.  Big smiles from them both!  She's changed a lot he says - bigger, more fun, more vocal, etc.  I don't notice too much of a difference being with her non-stop, so it's funny to hear what he has to say about it.  We grabbed lunch & went to the store & just hung out at home.  They played a lot & cuddled & we enjoyed having dinner together as a family again!

 She was *giggling* when he was kissing her & tickling her as we got her dressed for bed last night.  It was *HEART-MELTING ADORABLE*  I had her giggling a little bit again today & seriously if I could just bottle it up it could cure anything that ails you.  I can't wait til she does it more & longer as she gets bigger! :)

Night & Day from.....exhaustion?

More for my memory - than all of my lovely readers. . . .

Oh my - this momma is tired!  Last night as soon as I got into bed Cabrinha was continuing to act funny - so in & out we went until I just said - just puke anywhere you want if you just stop!  ... well she didn't listen & continued to keep me up.  I got in an hour nap from 12:30-1:30 (I think) I'm so off on my times with the time change in the middle & sleep deprived too.  Anyway, up worrying, not feeling well & doggy being weird.  Dave was out to dinner etc. with coworkers & called me (upon my insistence) at like 2:30 - (he's an hour behind) so we talk for 20 minutes & next I know the little love is waking up!!  20 minutes to decide whether she's serious or not & we're up together too. 
Let the doggy out again & sleep from 4:30-6:30 when I wake to her barking outside the window - oops.   Got maybe an hour nap in this morning abt 10 & then when it came time for afternoon nap O was fighting it, but fell asleep for about 25 minutes & just as I was falling asleep for what I was hoping for a 2 hour nap - she's up!  This turned into a 1.5 hour crying fit with only momentary silences throughout.  It.was.awful.  Being so tired with a crazy up all night before just really made it worse.  Nothing worked - not nursing, walking, swinging, cuddling. . . .
 Dave was 'there' with me through it all... which was honestly a big emotional help.  After he suggested taking a walk for the 3rd time - I listened - which helped - a.ton!  She was quiet through our walk to the beach - with her puffy eyes from crying. Poor thing. :(  She fussed a bit on the way home & napped for about 30 minutes.  yay!  Taking her inside in the stroller when she falls asleep she usually wakes up 10 minutes later, so I left the stroller outside, grabbed a magazine & read on the front porch - so it was 20 minutes instead.  ;) ha!  She woke up with a little smile as if nothing just caused a terrible day & I kissed her & we had a good rest of the evening.  :)

No pictures from today as I got nothing done today other than 2 walks!  (I had to take Brinas out again later - it wouldn't be be fair) :)  and that was my bad start - to a good week ahead! :)  -L-

Saturday

Liv slept until 6:30am again (but she was moving a lot through the night), but Cabrinha had me up at 5am acting weird.  I figured she was sick & we were in and out a few times, and finally I just left her outside til she barked at 6.  L & I napped in bed from 7:10-9:20 again.  Cab has been acting weird all day - no puking that I know of though.

L&I took a walk to the beach around 1 to check out how crazy the Spring Breakers were.  There was noticably more traffic - I had to wait for half a dozen + cars to drive by to cross the 4 lane highway (we're the last anything to turn to) & lots of cars going to the beach & while it's a lot more people than it has been, it wasn't as bad as a weekend in the summer usually is.  We sat and talked & watched fishermen for a little bit.  We ran into Greg on the way home & as we stood there talking I felt my foot burning! Ack - Fire Ants!  Stupid little things. . .

Took Cabrinha for a walk around the block tonight too so she wasn't too mad. ;) 

We got to video-talk to Grandma & Grandpa S. & cousin Spencer tonight & Daddy too! & G&G P. last night!

Today I put my diapers out in the sun to start to dry (which I've been wanting to do for months!) and even though they're a bit rearranged b/c I was chasing the sun with them.... look at the before & after!!


Ok, harder to see than I had hoped, but the liners on top have dark
stains & esp. this yellow one second on the right.

Just Hangin' Out

Yesterday . . . O & I took a walk to the beach & enjoyed the view.  Here she is takin' it all in at the beach. ;)  Our neighbor Greg & his dog Wrinkles caught up to us & we walked back from the beach together.  I met a neighbor with her 2 year old girl the other day & we ended up seeing them on a walk after we were home too. 

We had a bath & were a little fussy at night (most nights are a little)

Today - We hung out in the morning & I pulled out the two vacuum's & did the main house/carpets.  (We have tile floors all over & use a little vac for all over that doesn't blow it all around like the big ones do - this is the best.thing.ever.!) 

Our friend Joan came over for lunch at 11 & was holding Liv as soon as she walked in the door! ;)  Unfortunately, her smiles & laughs & excitment made Olivia cry!!  She didn't know what to do with this fun friend holding her & having fun!  She just kept staring at me & crying for a couple minutes, but she warmed right up to her after that & we had fun chattin' it up for the entire afternoon!  We went out & grabbed Subway & came back here for lunch & sat around til 4! :) It was the best part of the week!

Took a walk around the neighborhood this evening - & saw a lot of new faces.  Spring Break hits this weekend across the street & supposedly they're expecting 200,000 kids?!!  I dunno, I have to read the news myself, but either way it's supposed to be big & am glad I read the reminder to slow down since extra cops are around too! ;)

Made homemade Mac N Cheese for dinner tonight & that's about it!

O slept 9:30p-6:30a last night - wooohoooo!!  Hoping for the same or better tonight!

(edit: as I finish this it's 11:15p & she's up & crying -ughhh)

Lots of (Big) Little News

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to Grandma - All 3 of us girls were sad! :(  Liv was sleepily pouting & Cabrinha was trying to stop her from leaving.... sooo sad.

We stopped at the store on the way home from the airport after an exciting & important stop at Starbucks! yum....  As soon as we got home & I had Liv changed & fed my friend Julia texted to see if we still wanted to meet for lunch so we met up at Subway quick. 

O took a nap until about 3 .... and not again until the car ride to a spouse meeting when I left at 6:45.  She woke up there & was good until the meeting began and she just.flipped.out.  Poor sweet girl was beyond overly tired she wouldn't even nurse - it was not a pretty sight or sound. I stepped away into a nearby bathroom & a few minutes later my friend Erica came in to see if she could help & the hostess' mom did too - she ended up taking her outside & walked her around for bit, while the other 20 girls told me to sit down & relax for a minute!!  She was still upset when I went out to get her 10 minutes later but did finally eat & settle down again.  It was nice to socialize afterwards though!

Today we didn't do a single thing!  We chilled around the house; I took a nap in the afternoon.  Julia stopped by to drop something off.  I did a few loads of laundry & we took a walk around the neighborhood. 

But there are some super fun big exciting things about Miss O to share:

*Last night as we were chatting before we left the meeting she actually pulled on the bird on her car seat handle - a couple of times!! It stretchs down & vibrates back up.  She'd just starting touching it a bit, but she pulled it down!  Very exciting

*Today she was sucking her thumb!!  While, she has technically done this before (Here at a week old) she normally just sticks all her fingers or several in her mouth - but today it was specifically her thumb for most of the day!

*She rolled over during tummy time!  When I put her down at first she was still elevated & did it right away, but when I put her down arms not so extended she struggled a bit & did it again!  We even did it twice again for Daddy tonight!!  She's kind of done it before - with help before, or on her own on the couch a bit (that sounds bad, but it was totally safe!) but this was fun!

Here's to a more productive tomorrow.  ;)

Beach Day

Liv went to bed a bit after 9ish last night & was up again at 12:30 yellin'.  (Only a half an hour after I went to bed - it definitely felt like the middle of the night already!)  and then again about 6- into the pack n play again until 8. 

Mom ran to a store & grabbed What-a-burger for lunch.  We took a drive to the beach & soaked in the sun for an hour.  Liv took a nap, & Cabs ran around.

We watched stupid people get stuck in the sand & cowboys who think they're all that in their giant pickups come rescue them.  Dave & I not-so-secretly love watching this - because what makes people think they can get through a foot of sand in a little car that doesn't have 4 wheel drive?!  duh.

We ordered a Spinach Alfredo pizza for dinner which was delicious - I could eat more now.  I just may.  (edit: I just did) ;)

Tonight Liv was nothing but overly tired, upset & crabby - poor little girl.  She did, however, really enjoy a bath.  back to being upset afterwards though.  she's been in bed a bit earlier lately, so it'll be interesting to see how our schedules continue to change or when they solidify. 

Earlier in the night we enjoyed watching her roll onto her belly on the couch a few times - the angles etc. made it really easy. ;)  and
that's ok!

So beyond happy for Grandma's visit & help! :) We love you!!

Weekend

So yesterday we hung around the house all day & then took a drive - went to the boardwalk beach for a quick look & then to CVS (did some deals!) & grabbed dinner at the local Sandwich Shop - expensive, but pretty good.  Skipped the usual veggie sandwich for a philly cheese steak sand-been gettin' crazy all week ordering stuff that's not the norm for me.  We watched a movie on tv later too.

This morning Liv was up at 4:45 & then was in the Pack N Play in our room from 5:20-7 when she was up & yelping & smiling again & then cuddled with me til 9am.   Grandma & Cabs were on a walk when we finally got up!  Today we rearranged the living room - which opened many a can 'o worms...but we did some big changes & part of that spilled into our room & Liv's too.  It's always a fun feeling though.  Took a short nap & then late afternoon we finally went to the neighboring tourist town - went to the candy shop :) (Heard the rattlesnake wiggling while we were there!) & had dinner.  On the way home we stopped for gelato - Livy liked it too! ;)

Had Monsters, Inc. on tonight, I'm washing diapers, & mom gave me a back rub! :) yay!
